As most of you know, I graduated highschool in late October and finished my TEE exams (exams which will determine what uni's and courses I can go to next year) in the middle of November. Since then, I've been doing not much, at times, nothing.
Between the celebration of graduation and Christmas there isn't much to do. I don't have a job and probably won't get a one until I come back from my trip to melbourne in mid-january (although I am looking at applying), I am learning to drive but I definitley won't get anywhere near my lisence until Feburary or March at least.
My future education is probably the most uncertain aspect of life at the moment. I don't get my all important results back until the 23rd of December, depending on what these are I'll arrange my preferences of uni's and courses accordingly and hope that when the time comes in late-January for said schools to offer places they'll offer me one in the course that I want.
The point is that I feel like someone standing on the edge of a pool at a party, they KNOW that someone is going to get drunk enough to push them in, eventually, but they don't know exactly when it'll be and they don't know how they'll land in the water either. Will they land in head first? or side on? Will they scrape their ankle going in? They don't know. For now they have to wait standing at the side of the pool, waiting for something to happen.
I apologise for over long analogy. I hope you understand it cos I can't be bothered explaining.

So...What type of music are you into?
It's the standard ice-breaker question. This is a question that, theoretically, is a good question to create conversation and a possible common ground between aquaintances. It is also one that I've always hated answering, mainly for two reasons;
Firstly, up until recently, I haven't really paid much attention to what was popular music was as I dislike listening to the radio, mainly listening to classical music and podcasts and I'm just a little bit lazy. Secondly, because I thought that most modern day music was, at best, unimagitive and lacking in musicality. Of course, the latter is not true, with a lot of modern music being enjoyable to listen to, but I'll come back to that later.
But back to the infamous ice-breaking question; After being asked what music I was into during a suitably awkward conversation with a certain male aquaintence which ended in my vaguely listing of two punk-rock bands I sorta liked and trying desperately to defend the credibility of Fall Out Boy, I realised that I would have to delve into the unknown of new music as if I was ever going be able go three seconds without lasping into awkward silence with another human being. Because no matter how cool you think the classical music and podcasts you listen to are, the average teenager is just going to think you're a freak (and you might be, but hey, you don't want THEM to know that).
So I searched, muddling my way through myspace pages and their ridiculous genres (wtf is tropical?), peoples suggestions and youtube videos, I found a few artists that I like very much and I listen to often. Ironically, I haven't actually been asked this question since doing so, which is a shame because I could happily discuss Radiohead's aversion to being a "one hit wonder" or Matthew Bellamy's wicked guitar.
N.B. I was actually planning to write a whole lot more about this topic but I've decided to leave it here for now as it's 12:13am and I'll just start to rant and not make sense. So watch this space, my diligent readers.

Reasons, Guidelines and the Beginning
This is it... I actually have decided to blog. To bite the bullet and actually try and write down what I'm thinking, feeling and commenting on my everyday life and other such frivolous things.
Why do it? I mean I'm probably one of the thousands of bloggers on this free website who promise wholeheartly to their (usually) non-exsistent readers that they will blog once every day, week, millenium and then just end up posting one pathetic blog about how their readers should check out their blogtv channel and how Edward Cullen is just the hottest undead teenager since... well, since ever.
Well, I have a promise to make to my non-exsistent (but oh-so-important) readers, that I will;
a) not mention the apparent hottness of a certain fictional vampire, unless attached to some proper discussion.
b) EVER use this blog merely to plug something else on the web, without providing a decent explanation for such plugging, for I think, a blog such as this should provide something that's worth reading and not merely a billboard for the users other internet persuits.
c)Probably create a few more over-explained guidelines. I do love a good guideline.
But, I digress, as I was saying, the reason for me to begin and continue this blog is so that I can write whatever the hell I'd like about whatever the hell I want, as per my own guidelines, of course.
Basically, no matter how many (if any) people read this blog I will try and include only my most honest of thoughts, in attempt to understand and process them in a way that they would not if left to float absent mindedly in my brain. As I do believe in the power of words, but I also belive in the inability of the human race to communicate these all-important words.
This blog is my attempt at the art of communication. So I'll write like someone's reading.
