I should have posted this yesterday, but I didn't

I know, I'm still behind, I shouldn't be, but I am. It's ironic that I'm the only one who didn't preface my BEDA commitment with a I-might-not-be-able-to-post-everyday disclaimer, yet I believe I'm the first one to be behind. Enough of that, onto the blog post;

PART TWO

Most Saturday nights I don’t do very much just hang around home being bored and annoyed that probably everybody else I know is out having fun at events to which I wasn’t invited generally for reasons unbeknown to me.

However, this Saturday I was actually invited to a gathering at a friend’s house, a friend that I hadn’t seen in a relatively long time and never really outside school related events, so I was pleased to be able to see him again. Furthermore I got to meet some of Gerarda’s friends from university, who coincidently also went to school with my aforementioned friend. It was an enjoyable gathering except that one of my friends from school was there and she drank way too much especially since she got smashed the night before. Which was idiotic and annoying because being her friend there you end up having to look after her plus its just plain embarrassing. But apart from that it was fun eating two minute noodles tainted with vodka and having a discussion about the similarities of democracy and communism with tipsy yet politically aware teenagers.

Catch Up Blog Number One

I can't believe I'm already behind on this. It's just that Saturday was unusally busy for me. Why? I hear you ask, well the answer will be spread across two different blog posts in order for me to catch up to my quota.

PART ONE
As you know, I have recently aquired a new job working in a chain cafe/resturant and Saturday was my first day. It went quite well with no major stuff ups except by not having the right coloured shoes and once dropping the cutlery. My major tasks were that I had to clean cutlery, run the meals out to the customers and other simple tasks. All of which I think I achieved with suffcient proficency. I go back on Wednesday for more in depth training and hopefully I'll get all my pay details and stuff sorted out then. I hope I will enjoy this job, (as much as it's possible to enjoy casual employment in the hospitality industry) I think I will because a lot of the staff are around my own age and they seem relaxed and friendly which is always good in a work environment.

I know this blog post kind of fails in the "interesting" column, but I promise before the day is over I will have posted a much more interesting blog, mainly centred around what I did on saturday night.

Blog Post Number 2!

Yay! I remembered to blog today!
I am also glad to announce that Jacinthe (http://soapqueen.wordpress.com/2009/04/02/blog-every-day-april-beda/) is also planning to BEDA and doing so in English so us English-speakers can keep up.

Now on to today, I GOT A JOB! Finally. It makes me wonder why I didn't think of applying at this particular place earlier. Oh well.. Doesn't matter now really. Though I'm glad I have something to do now before I start school again on the 28th.

I have to renew my passport tomorrow morning before I go to work. Which is a slight pain in the nether regions, though it does mean that I don't have to worry about it when I actually have to travel overseas later on next year.

I think that is all for now. I think I may be rather busy in the coming weeks as UWA goes on break and Easter is coming up, as well as a few 18ths. But I will definitley manage to blog all about it! And hopefully I can plan some more intellectual challenging, thoughtful blogs too. To make it interesting.

=)

Blog Every Day April (except yesterday)!

I've decided to blog everday in April. Why? Three reasons, 1) Because my blog posts seem, on average, a month apart and I don't really think that's good enough. 2) Because I don't start at my new school until the 28th and I need something to do, as I am currently bored and miserable because I can't seem to find casual employment and I have nothing else to do. 3) Because Kristina from fiveawesomegirls is doing it and so is Maureen Johnson. Plus other various youtubers are vlogging every day in April.

So I will too. It'd be cool if anyone who reads this blog could also blog everyday in April. It'd be great to see what you guys are doing and it might give me more motivation to blog everday. Even though I may find recounting my days activites slightly depressing. Just because..
If you do decide to do this leave a comment and a link or something. Come on you know you want to... =P

EDIT: I realised that the blog has a timezone that is not my own, this was posted on the 1st of April in THAT timezone. So I have posted a post for April 1st! YAY.

Oatmeal Brownie Cookies and Life as a Uni Drop Out

Today is a public holiday in Western Australia, but as every good teriary student knows most universities here don't observe state-wide public holidays on account of the fact that, if they did they'd have very little class time at all.

So why I am I at home and not at uni? Well the answer is that I have decided to withdraw from the course that I previously enrolled in. The reason for this is that I was never really in the right frame of mind to do well in that particular course as I wasn't particular interested in any of the units or indeed, had any intention of ever finishing the course. So I figured for the sake of my sanity and my bank account, I decided that I would not continue at university this year at all. I am now looking for a job and also researching other ways to further my education.

This sudden status change from "student" to "unemployed uni drop-out" has led me to do some baking. Last week to fill in time I decided to bake some cookies and, dissatisfied with the packet mix for vanilla cupcakes, I remembered a recipe that I saw on a blog for Oatmeal Brownie Cookies and realised that it didn't require an electric mixer (always a big plus, less washing up) and decided to make some of my own. They were appropriately delcious.

Here's the link to the recipe blog-post:

I'm fairly sure that the blogger was formerly Lumos on the MCFF awhile back, although I may be wrong. Oh and although the recipe is vegan, not being vegan myself or having any other than ordinary dairy milk at home I made it non-vegan by using normal milk.

So if you feel like making some cookies and don't know what to bake. I strongly suggest you give these ones a try!

Indifferent Margo

So. As you may have realised, my ever-faithful readers, I bought Paper Towns today after finally finding it in Borders. Unfortunately, unlike all the American readers I was unable to choose from a happy or sad Margo, instead I had to buy the above edition; the indifferent Margo. This being the case, I seem to have got both the happy and sad Margo editions of the book while actually getting neither. As for the actual narrative, I am only half-way through at the moment so to pass judgement on it would be premature at present.

I know I did say that I would post a blog today about some other topics but as I now have Paper Towns to read. I'd rather do that than blog. I will post a blog about the aforementioned other topics in the near future because well, I said I would didn't I?

Excuse me, if I'm correct you're standing on my neck

Well. Here I am back in the blogging game. I promise to all my faithful (and completely non- exsistent) readers. That I will have a proper blog up soon, about what I'm doing at uni, Valentines Day and other things. But as it's 10:36 and I'm tired and am in no state to write a coherent blog, so I will write in the morning (maybe).

The title of this blog, is literally what happened to me yesterday as a result of two of my over-excited friends, they broke my sunglasses as a result. It could also be seen as an overly-morbid metaphor of my life at present.
